(Vanessa E. Silver)

Chapter 1

I could not believe my eyes, it was her! She was here all alone in the same bar that I was in. I had not expected such luck to be in close proximity to the woman I had become completely infatuated with after first crossing paths with her in the coffee shop just weeks before. Surely it was a definite sign, a justification for me to act?

Drowning out the noise of my group of tipsy friends I watched as she drank from her wine glass at a small table, she somehow looked out of place with her sombre expression, I wondered what she was thinking so hard about.

Unfortunately, her mood did not stop the wolves from advancing. I found myself automatically becoming both jealous and annoyed as I watched as a number of eager men tried their luck with her. But I was relieved when she appeared to turn down all their offers, knocking them all back so they walked away from her table in disappointment.

I knew I was acting a little irrational for I truly could not blame the desperate males for being attracted to her, just like I was. There was no denying that she was beautiful and sexy woman with her long dark hair that framed a heart-shaped face that consisted of a set of big blue seductive eyes and lips that looked full and soft to the touch. I trailed my eyes down subtly to the red strapless dress that clung to her body provocatively showing off her exquisite rounded womanly curves in all the right places and which contrasted well with her slim waistline. I found myself having to restrain my thoughts to calm down my growing excitement.

Our eyes suddenly locked as she came out of her trance and caught me in the act of observing her. Instead of looking away instantly as I would have predicted she would do, she continued to stare back directly at me in acknowledgement. I felt my desire increase as I noted her lips parting as if she was about to ask a question to me from afar. Moments later I lost my high mood as she turned away from me picking up her tiny bag as she headed to the exit of the bar. I did not think twice as I clumsily raced to the door, navigating my steps through the packed bar of sluggish bodies, I was determined not to miss my opportunity and just let her walk away and disappear.

'Please don't go, not just yet anyway, not before you tell me your name?' I was relieved when I beat her to the door.

'You're the guy from the coffee shop? Just like I thought,' her light feminine voice sounded surprised, as she looked me over.

'So you do remember me then?' I spoke with optimism.

'How could I possibly forget, with the big tips you have been leaving me,' I got a small smile back from her as she stopped to address me further.

'So will you tell me finally what your name is?'

'It's Sonya.'

'Sonya!' I repeated after her, I felt elevated to finally know the name of the woman I was determined to make my own. 'So Sonya can I get you a drink, you seem like you need one?' I was hoping I was not coming across too cheesy, I didn't want to scare her off.

'No I got to get out of here...it was nice meeting you....'

'Christopher...that's my name, but of course call me Chris for short.'

'It was nice meeting you Christopher...goodby.'

'Wait Sonya I would like to see you again, but this time properly, not in the coffee shop where you work or a loud bar, I would like to take you out on a date, just you and me.' I had grown impatient; I wanted to put my cards on the table.

'Chris...' I watched as she paused to look at me once again, I knew she was debating her answer over in her mind, but when she finally replied I was unprepared for what she had to say. 'Chris can I come back with you to your place, I don't want to be alone tonight?' Her words came to me both clearly and calm, so I had no doubt that she meant what she said and that she wasn't intoxicated. 'But it's ok if you don't want me to, perhaps I shouldn't have been too forward,' she started to retract her request when I hesitated to reply back to her after some moments.

'No, I would be more than happy for you to come back to mine if that's what you want?'

'Yes, Chris it's what I want.'

I did not question her words again as I wrapped my arm protectively around her waist and we walked out of the bar together side by side.
