Nearby howls snap her awake. She thinks she was having a nightmare, until she peeks out from under the log and sees shining eyes all around her. She screams hysterically. The wolves jump back, and snarl. But they don't attack. Instead, something that looks marginally human--but moves like a wolf--edges into the clearing. Now she thinks she's hallucinating, and she faints.

The man-thing picks her up, and lopes along behind his pack. Her weight doesn't slow him down at all.

When she wakes up in the morning, she's in a darkened grotto, surrounded by wolves.

(There are a bunch of big pillows on my bed. I pile them around me to look like sleeping wolves. In the shadows, they look so realistic that I shiver for a moment before remembering that it's only a fantasy.)

At first she's terrified. But then she realizes they're all asleep. She starts crawling into the sunlight, but the man-thing rolls over to stare at her. He has a big hard-on that gets even bigger as he watches her...
