Shared By Strangers (Nancy Grey)
Tyrone, the guy in the workers' overalls, picked me up like a feather and carried me downstairs. I screamed. I called for help but in vain. The storm was so loud outside that there was no way someone could hear me. While he was carrying me downstairs, they took my purse and the whiskey, which they immediately opened and began to drink. He carried me into the basement. One of them turned on the light. It was an ordinary bulb that hung on wires from the ceiling. In the middle of the room, there was a dirty table. A backless bench and two rickety chairs were next to the wall. Tyrone put me down. They surrounded me.
"Now take your clothes off, whore, because if we take them off, you'll be goin' home naked." The fat guy said. I started shaking my head. I almost cried when I was slapped again. I felt like I would faint. Again they caught me so that I wouldn't fall down.
