"Sasha. I like that name." Tim's hand went to his chin as he pondered it. "Sounds feminine and kinda sexy at the same time."

"She's a nice girl. You'll like her," Brad said, sounding genuine.

Tim eyed his friend with suspicion. "Have you actually met her?"

Hesitation from Brad. Eventually he shook his head.

Tim sighed. "So you don't really even know what she looks like." Another sigh. "Or anything else about her."

Brad shrugged now. "Kelly assures me she's attractive and really pleasant to be around."

For the third time Tim sighed. "We both know that when a girl says another girl is attractive, it doesn't necessarily mean us guys will think the same of her."

Brad grinned. "Don't be so shallow."

"Says he who dates a woman who looks like a Playboy centerfold."

"Well," said Brad. "I do have great taste." He made a gesture of polishing his fingernails against his shirt.

The pair were at the driving range, whacking a few golf balls after work to relieve the tension of the day. They both worked for an insurance company and today the phones had been running hot due to a current promotion. Brad lined up a ball as the sun set in the distance. Floodlights cut through the gloom, so bright it was like daylight. He raised his club and swung so hard that he missed the ball entirely. The ball trickled off the tee from the turbulence of the club whooshing past it and rolled between Brad's shoes.

"Nice shot," Tim said with a smirk. "Remind me never to get golf lessons off you." He watched as Brad lined up the shot again and struck it sweetly. The ball sailed several hundred yards out over the grass before finally coming back down to earth. Tim nodded. "That was better."

He took a shot of his own and, even though he hit it sweetly, it didn't quite make the distance of Brad's last shot. He dropped his club on the ground and folded his arms.

"I don't know about this," he said. "I've never been a fan of blind dates."
