One Night Stand 2

Simon was lying back on his couch with his phone to his ear. On the other end of the line was his best friend, Brennan. The guy loved a chat and Simon often struggled to get a word in. Right now Brennan was rambling on about this great new smartphone app he'd downloaded a week ago and how awesome he reckoned it was.
"It's called Elixir," Brennan was motoring on. "You have to download it, dude, and try it. Download it tonight. Trust me. You're gonna love it. Trust me."
"What is it?" Simon managed to squeeze a question in.
"I'm getting to that, dude. It's a dating app. No, it's not really a dating app. Not in the traditional sense. I's a pick up app. A hook up app. You know, an app that helps you pick up and get laid. Like quickly. It searches out people nearby that you can connect with and meet for sex."
"What? Just like that?"
"Yes!" he was emphatic. "Just like that. Trust me, dude. I only downloaded it a week ago and already I've been laid three times. It's amazing! No, it's beyond amazing. It's totally awesome. Trust me. Download it tonight and try it out."
Simon agreed to download it just to get Brennan to shut up about it. When his friend disconnected the call, Simon navigated his phone to the app store and searched for Elixir, found it and downloaded it. He was dubious about an app being a handy tool leading to easy pick ups, but while Brennan loved to talk things up, he was no liar. If he'd been laid three times in the past work via meetings through this app, then he was telling the truth.
Simon went into the kitchen and made himself a coffee, which he took back into the living and drank while perusing the profiles and functions on the app so he could familiarize himself with it. Once he'd done that he went about setting up a simple profile and uploading a reasonably clear face pic of himself from the camera roll on his phone. He searched out another photo which showed a bit more of him and uploaded that one as well.
After finishing off his coffee he looked through the profiles in more detail, this time using a function in the app that told him who was currently online and within close proximity to him. Most didn't really appeal to him, but several did, so he shot off brief messages to a couple and awaited a response. When nothing seemed to be happening as quickly as he'd like, Simon went into the kitchen and fixed himself another brew.
Half an hour later he got a reply from one woman. Her name was Jasmine. He fired off another message, just introducing himself and making small talk and soon had another reply. However, when he mentioned the word 'sex', he never heard back from her.
"So what's wrong with talking about sex on here?" he said to himself. "It's a hook up app, after all. Not a dating/relationship app."
