EXTRACT FOR
Rebounder

(Gia Maria Marquez)

"Can you imagine a Rebounder speed dating?" Tavin asked, slipping out of a hideous pink lamé miniskirt, tossing it to the back of the bountiful closet. "It would be like, 'Hi, I'm Tavin. Sure I look like one hot mama now, but wait five minutes and I might turn into a big-ass biker dude.'"
Feifei laughed??"well, tweeted anyway, but Tavin had come to understand the sparrow's bird-speak. After all, Feifei was a Rebounder too, albeit at a lower level than Tavin. After six years working together, helping to ease humans past the suffering and torment of a break-up, they had no trouble comprehending one another.
"Imagine how many targets you're bound to see at this speed dating thing," Feifei said, perching in Tavin's hair. "I can't imagine anyone putting themselves through that many first dates if they weren't on the rebound."
"I don't know." Tavin turned to catch their image in the bedroom mirror: a busty dark-haired woman with golden skin, wearing nothing but a black lace bra and matching thong... with a bird on her head. "It isn't wrong to want to meet new people. You've become jaded."
"Well?" Feifei prodded. "Haven't you? Every one of our targets just wants to get laid. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am... or sir, or whatever body you're in that day. Humans are such pigs."
"That's rich, coming from an alien sparrow." Tavin flicked the bird away and then reached around to unlatch the bra. It had taken a while to get the hang of these things, but Tavin never thought about it anymore. "And I don't think humans are pigs. Well, some are, but overall they want to be loved. Not just be loved, but they want to give love. That's why I'm here??"so they can burn off some animal lust on the rebound and then move forward into healthier relationships with other humans."
