EXTRACT FOR Riding Red (Crimson Rose)
The eleven woodsmen took turns using the small fireplace shovel to dig themselves free while making sure to get as much of the snow into the empty barrels as possible. One would thing keeping the door open would have dropped the temperature below freezing, but it actually acted as an insulator that kept the cabin cozy.
By noon Red had drank the pee of seven men and her own and was starting to feel ill and bloated. Lying down, she managed to fall asleep as the men continued working. She had no idea how long she was out, but she woke to the most horrific sound of something heavy smashing through a wooden table which was followed by the chaotic screams of the woodsmen.
"HEATH!" Finn called out.
Opening her eyes, Red stared up into the burning red eyes of a huge werewolf. Standing nearly eight feet tall, barrel-chested, arms and legs rippling with muscle, the fur-covered beast swung its right claw and narrowly missed Finn's neck. She had heard rumors of such creatures but this is the first time she had ever seen one up close and in person. Panic suddenly setting in, she scrambled back into a corner and covered herself with the heavy, treated pelt of a bear as Leo went flying across the room. "W-What do you want? Why are you doing this?" she stammered.
The werewolf stopped, its snarling maw snapping in Red's direction. "You," it spoke, its voice low and gravelly.
"M-Me?"
"These men will not stop me from claiming what is mine!" the beast snarled.
"PLEASE, stop hurting them!" Looking out the still open door, Red saw the woodsmen had cleared a path ahead that intersected another presumable made by the creature now terrorizing them. "W-W-What do you want with me?"
"What do you think I want? You were to be my mate before taking the witch's potion and running off. I will not be denied any longer. Come with me now or this cabin will run red with their blood!"
"M-Mate? You mean you and me...you were going to..." stopping, she looked around the room and gulped back her fear and pride. "These men took me in when I had nowhere else to go. I'll do as you ask, but please do not harm them or the village of Uparia."
"Red, NO!" Finn exclaimed. "You cannot mate with this beast! I will not allow it."
"Then you'll die!" the werewolf said as its huge clawed hand wrapped around his throat.
"STOP!" Red shouted. "Let him go and you may have me here and now."
"You'll be banished from the village," Mylo said from his position cowering in the corner opposite the beast. "You'll be hunted and killed right along with it."
"Only if you tell," Red replied. "Please, beast, give me your word that no harm will come to these men or the people of Uparia and I will travel to this cabin every night so that you may mate with me."
