Rita gathered the files, knowing she'd have to put on her very best for the man to win him. She wasn't beyond doing what was necessary to land an account. And as for Mr. Harmon, she'd allowed a little touch and play to keep a client happy. Normally, the marketing team kept clients happy without such interventions. But if it became necessary, Rita would use her assets to help the business. She hoped Mr. Harmon would be happy with his report in a week. She was more concerned over wooing Norman Baker of California.

The break room was empty as Rita ducked inside for a quick cool drink. The files sat on top of the clean counter top while she grabbed a bottle of filtered water from the cooler. Popping the top, Rita took a long drink, helping to calm her nerves and cool her insides. The clock said she had three minutes to prepare for the video conference, so Rita grabbed the folders and water and rushed up the hall to the conference room.

Mary and Brenda were finishing up with a call on another client, so Rita had to step outside the door and wait. Why the women didn't lock the door she didn't know. Finally, Mary emerged as she closed her sweater around her front. "It's all yours," Mary said as she brushed by Rita. Brenda was right behind her carrying a box of files.

Rita set the files on the desk and quickly grabbed the cleaning supplies. She liked for her presentations to be on a clean conference table. After quickly wiping down the table and drying it she shoved the cleaning supplies back into the small armoire. She nodded, satisfied the conference room was ready and turned on the camera and large monitor. Before she sat down, she locked the door, so people wouldn't barge in on her. Everyone knew not to knock because it was a video conference room.

The monitor bloomed to life, the other party hadn't connected yet. Good, it gave Rita time to take a few deep breaths to calm her nerves. The thermostat was set too high. Both Mary and Brenda always walked around cold and shivering, keeping the heat thrusting at full speed. Rita was thankful for the thermostat in each room as she shoved it down. The cool air hummed through the vents, but it wasn't enough. It didn't matter, it would have to do because Mr. Baker would be on the screen live any moment now.
