EXTRACT FOR Scorn Woman Takes Her Ex Back On One Condition (Scarlett Steele)
"No thanks," Tonya said as she swung her legs out of his car. He didn't make a move to walk her to the door or even bend to her for a good night kiss. The whole thing felt so off to Tonya. "Okay, see you later. Maybe come by after the movie for a nightcap?" Hope teetered on the edge as she waited for his answer.
"We'll see how I feel once the movie is over. I may call Ralph or Ted and see if they want to meet up with me at the theater. See ya later," Fargo said. He put the car in drive and Tonya shut the door and stepped back as he drove off. He didn't even wait to make sure she made it to her house safely.
Tonya waited up for two hours hoping Fargo would pop by to spend the night with her after the movie. When he didn't show, she quickly sent a text. He didn't respond and that puzzled her because she knew he was probably done with the movie and still at the theater. On a whim, she decided to load up in her car and check on him. He wasn't at his townhouse, so she drove to the theater. While she pulled into the parking lot she saw him in his car and some chick was sitting in the seat beside him.
Tonya whipped around so she could follow Fargo. The woman in the seat beside him kept leaning over to him. He swerved his car a couple of times. She held back watching as he turned into an apartment complex. She couldn't follow too closely, or he'd see her. She pulled up alongside the winding drive and watched as he pulled into a parking place. He and the woman left his car and he put his arm around her as they walked to the front entrance of the building.
Tonya sank into her seat as she watched in horror. Fargo was cheating on her. Who was the woman? She had no clue. On another whim, she exited the car and moved closer to the building she saw him enter. There were six units on the bottom and the stairs led to probably six more above. She slowly walked through the hall listening. She ruled out the ones with babies crying, or with people talking and she didn't recognize Fargo. She crept up the stairs assuming they had gone up there. On the way, she noticed the row of mailboxes with names and numbers. As she scanned the boxes, she recognized one name, Cindy Holden. Cindy was a friend of Fargo as he had mentioned her a time or two. The woman lived in 2B. Tonya quietly crept up the stairs and stood outside of 2B. Her heart thumped hard in her chest as she listened within. She heard nothing but a muffled thump once in a while. She wasn't even sure if it was coming from Cindy's apartment.
Defeated, Tonya turned away and walked back to her car. She waited in her car for over three hours until Fargo finally left Cindy's apartment. She was crying hard when he reached his car. He pulled out and she was still parked right alongside the curb. He drove right by and slowed when he realized it was her. The look of horror of being caught edged across his face. He slowed, and she realized she had been caught too. Instead of waiting for him to park his car, she thrust her key in the ignition and gunned it, leaving him in her dust by the time he had parked his car.
She barely caught him as he started whipping around to follow her. She pulled onto the road and headed to the freeway. She was leaps ahead of him and by the time she pulled up their avenue, she opened her garage and pulled inside. She bawled her eyes out as she hit the garage remote and the door shut, shutting out the world and Fargo.
