The heat wave did nothing for Eva's hair as she pulled her flaxen tresses back in a ponytail and wore the cotton sundress that was a little too revealing for the conference she was attending. "Eva," Eva said and held out her hand for the man to shake. "Nice to meet you." There, pleasantries aside, he was easy on the eyes and his voice flowed like velvet. She was mesmerized by it. He lifted a brow as he looked her over, her body which was barely covered by the low-cut cotton dress and her legs, which she at once crossed because she was sitting with them apart due to the heat. Blushing heavily, she fanned herself with the brochure from the conference.



Brenden bent forward trying to read the brochure, his brow furrowed and then brightened. "May I?" he asked, his hand extended for the paper.



"What? This?" Eva handed it to Brenden. His face lit as he grinned. 



"You heading here?"



"I am. I'm a teaching assistant at the university back there," Eva said thumbing behind her.
