EXTRACT FOR Alphabet Minis 2 (Kelly Addams)
The sound of cicadas filled the air, and the scent of Jasmin filled her senses. It always seemed more intense at night, the fragrance carried up to her second floor balcony by invisible currents generated as paving tortured during the day by a fierce Mediterranean sun released its stored heat gradually. Faith leaned back into a cheap plastic chair that boasted the logo of the local brewery, she was happy, contented for the first time in months, she sighed as worries seemed to melt away... she had needed a break after such a bloody awful year. Work had been a joke, the load increased but her hours had shrunk, more work for less money, but in such a fragile economy any job was a bonus, gone were the days when employees had any power, there were twenty other girls camped outside her office willing to do twice what she was doing for a good deal less. Faith was a realist, she had her ear constantly to the ground listening out for new and better opportunities, but until they came along she would smile sweetly and bend over while her boss fucked her up the ass... metaphorically speaking of course, because everyone who knew Faith intimately knew that was the very last place they would ever be permitted to stick even a finger!
Not that anyone had been sticking anything, anywhere... for quite a few months, she admitted silently as she tried to remember the last time she had spent a whole night with a man she cared for.
"To you... ass-hole!" she raised a glass dripping with condensation and grinned, she was toasting her ex, the piece of cheating shit that had driven her to some of the darkest moments in her young life. Nineteen years of age, and already jaundiced! She had loved, completely and without reservation, he had taken with a smile, and he had claimed to love her equally... but of course that is impossible when the emotion is shared with at least two other girls!
"I was a real bimbo airhead!" she stated quietly before sipping her latest discovery, the wonderful way the Spanish had found to make cheap and nasty red wine drinkable. She had a large plastic bottle of the miracle soda sitting in her apartment fridge... Casera, sparking like lemonade but not as sweet, bad wine mixed with ice and a good slug of Casera became a fabulous, low alcohol thirst quencher, and the perfect tipple each evening as she recovered from the heat of the day and prepared herself for the exertions of the night ahead.
"I trusted him so completely... but he taught me a valuable lesson, never trust... and never believe a single word I'm told, especially when they mention the L word!"
It had been over six months since the discovery of his infidelity... and they had been hard months, Faith had suffered from depression, mood swings... some of her actions had been self destructive, drinking had been one escape, but she had more sense than allow it to become a habit and a crutch to lean on when reality stung too much. She had stooped low and begged him to reconsider, she had hated herself for being weak, then she had turned around and directed the hate into him... into the male of the species in general.
To debate if the pretty young girl was a devout and devoted lesbian would have been forgiven at one point as she poured venom on the poor innocents who dared cut through the frost and asked her for a date.
She was damaged goods, but she had healed... slowly. Now she had reached the point where she could take an advance in the spirit it was intended... but those she accepted and allowed into her bed should never have considered themselves any more than simple stress relief... she had taken on a very male trait... she fucked for fun without a trace of emotion or connection, and she wasn't ashamed to use and discard with zero consideration for feelings.
And it was a trait that she would soon put to good use, as she discovered a new, and very lucrative life that awaited her on the sun-drenched south coast of Spain.
