'Sorry Karen but I don't think it's a good idea,' I tried to dissuade my best friend from what seemed to me to be a terrible, and poorly thought out plan.

'Really...just think about it for one minute Lucy, and you will see that what I am proposing is actually a perfect plan, and the only real way to find out if Rob is all that he presents himself to be,' Karen spoke determinedly.

'Really Karen?! I am not sure there would be many people out there who would agree with your logic or feel comfortable enough to ask their friend to make a play for their boyfriend...it's just too weird to even consider. I am sorry Karen but I cannot help you with this.'

'Come on Lucy you are making my request sound worse than it actually is, okay I am asking you to hit on Rob but not for some dirty, sordid reason. In fact, I am very rational about my decision...removing all my emotions out of the equation, which you know I am not usually prone to doing where men are concerned.

'So please Lucy see it instead as helping out your grateful best friend whom you have known since childhood...help me find out the truth about Rob whatever it may be,' Karen spoke persuasively leaving me little room to manoeuvre.

'Okay let's just suppose for just a moment...not that I am making any promises yet, but let's just say I was to agree to go along with your suggestion then what would your plan exactly entail?' I spoke with hesitation.
