STORY DESCRIPTION

Julia and her inmates suffer at the hands of their overseers 'In the Interests of Justice'.....

Their processing complete, they were once more put into line and marched out of the main buildings, to cross a large square of rolled gravel, tightly packed, but still a trial to bare soft feet, and the source of continuous small cries and moans, as they limped their painful way across it. The Warden had left them at the door, but two male guards were present to cheer them with the news that their painful progress now would seem as traversing pile carpet, compared to the bitter flints and broken stone of the roads they would be set to repair during their labour.
