STORY DESCRIPTION

Maggie Gold is a confident but troubled young woman. Working in a Pizza restaurant, as a cleaner, on the minimum wage, she barely has enough money to get by. Wanting to stay south of the river, in Battersea, where her roots are, she ends up renting a tiny room in the attic of a rundown apartment building.

Her friends work the streets and have bad habits, but Maggie resists getting involved until her boyfriend Dave gambles her money away, leaving her unable to pay the rent. Unfortunately, her belligerent German landlord, Karl and his pal, Tony, decide that enough is enough.

Desperate to put off being evicted, she negotiates an alternative way to pay which is what Karl was after all along. Maggie though, is determined to get the pair off her back and out of her bed, so goes to the local dealer who was supplying her boyfriend before she kicked him out.

The moment she enters the dealer's flat alone, Maggie comes face to face with Cody, a handsome young black man. The wolf in sheep's clothing uses desperate young women, like Maggie, and immediately takes her under his wing.

From that moment, Maggie becomes enmeshed in the dark and nasty underworld where punishments are rife and worse treatment is just one more mistake away. Can Maggie stop her life from spiralling out of control and save herself from ending up in the gutter?
