It doesn’t bend up the language too much to say that there was a time when Germans defined the role of a wife as: Children, Chow, and Church.
In “Marriage Guidance: Steering the Spouse onto a Femdom Path,” the inimitable Miss Birch lays down her own “Three Cs,” for husbands, and for the marital satisfaction of women: Caning, Chastity, and Cuckolding.
A month ahead of her wedding to “Child-Man” Jack, the young bride-to-be, Susan, is warned by, her wiser friend Janice, of the foolhardiness of tolerating “the untrained male.”
With the honeymoon over, Susan quickly comes to understand her friend’s perspective.
“A strict rationing of sex and a nice whippy cane,” Janice assures her, “that’s the recipe if a girl is going to arrange her life properly.”
I suspect I will spoil nothing by revealing that, with various kinds of support, Susan quickly “gets Jack sorted out.”
This is a compact but well-formed and complete story; the details conveyed are clear and specific but, at least to this reader’s sensibilities, not overly harsh or graphic; the “taming of the husband” is taken to be a “brisk bit of business,” as the title flags: putting a man on his “path.”
There are some minor infelicities of format and editing, but nowhere near a level that interferes with the enjoyment of the story. Miss Birch is British; the story includes various “Britticisms”; none of that presents a “barrier to enjoyment” (or comprehension) either.
