Peter King's novel, Slaveheart suffers from one problem. It's main
character is just too perfect. Marcy Sims is a slave and she knows
it. After years of not finding a Master that can truly be her Master,
she responds to an ad and begins the process of proving herself to Sir
Alan. There's great sex and BDSM throughout the story and Marcy is
the perfect slave; and that's gthe problem. There's nothing of
consequence she fails at. Even the minor failings are the result of
her eagerness to be the perfect slave. There's simply no drama to be
had, no tension from the desire to be a slave warring with her
struggle to obey hard orders. The story itself becomes a little
boring. Thank God for the great sex.
