 | STORY DESCRIPTION Zahra Swann and Ben Haselzweig are both assistant professors seeking tenure. Zahra, a gorgeous African-American woman, is a rising star who makes a name for herself rallying for the correct causes. Ben, a wounded veteran teaching military history, is the faculty ideological pariah. The two have little reason to interact, until Zahra sees Ben at a fetish event and decides he is the one person on campus who could dare help her satisfy her secret, dark desire- raceplay!
Soon the two of them begin a sizzling BDSM relationship the nature of which would shock everyone on campus. And that makes their sex even hotter.
Author's note: This story is the tale of a consensual relationship where the participants' play involves using racist terminology and imagery. If such words or scenarios bother you, please avoid this story.

I happen to be a little flush at the moment, so I went and got a copy.
The first thing I noticed was the story being told from a different viewpoint than the blurb made it seem - not a problem, but a little jarring.
The next thing I noticed was the obvious skill of the writer - the characters were believable, the action is described well.
The third thing I noticed was that an editor was a lacking - either none was hired, or he did a bad job of it. A few paragraphs left unfinished, a few places lines were repeated. Not enough to ruin the book, but it was noticeable.
The main characters are believable together, but they do seem to rush together awfully quickly, as if the writer did not want to waste time on that, which is understandable, I suppose, but personally I might have enjoyed a longer 'courtship.'
The scenes of play are okay. Not awesome; the action is well-described, but I would have liked more detail. I also couldn't feel the scenes emotionally, it all just seemed a little too pat, a little too rushed. It might just be a personal taste thing, so don't take that to the bank.
The characters talk a lot in this story - more than in a lot of other ebooks, I mean; not much to my taste, but the dialogue is good, so if you like word-play (so to speak) you'll probably like this: lots of begging and name-calling, all in good fun.
One thing I really like in this is that the characters have tremendous fun doing what they do, and are always careful and do the right things to stay safe (apart from kinda rushing to start, as I note above).
Wrapping Up
A quick, fun, well-written story with a few minor flaws; I think it is well worth the money, and as long as you don't get hung up on the politics(which is in fact a theme of the story!) I think you will enjoy it. (Pornwriter at Deviantart) I saw the cover art of Rossum's ebook 'The Black Swan Event' and I was intrigued by the blurb beneath.
