Jean Roberta is the thinly-disguised pen name of a writer who promised her parents not to give them high blood pressure by using the family name for her erotic stories. She moved to Canada from the United States with her family as a teenager in the 1960s, and won her first writing award at age eighteen in a national student writing contest. After various detours, she found a comfortable niche teaching first-year English courses in a Canadian prairie university, which allows time for her to write in several genres, including fiction, articles, reviews and opinion pieces, mostly on erotic and gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender subjects. Luckily, her dual American-Canadian citizenship and support from the Ivory Tower make it easy for her to travel to writing events in larger cultural centers.
