A South Pacific hurricane drives the Spirit of Inverness, a 200’ tall ship onto an unmarked reef. The ship and most the crew are lost, except thirteen survivors marooned on a small tropical island. The ship was so far off course, it may be many months before they are rescued; if ever.

The survivors – four men and nine women – struggle at first to survive, but eventually become comfortable in their new environment; an island paradise. With the lopsided ratio of men to women, sexual tensions build.

Oscar winning movie star Clarice Somerville is missing. Her private Lear jet has crashed high in the Canadian Rockies on Christmas Eve, 1964.

Local rancher and widower Harley Jacob is spending his Christmas in an alpine mountain cabin, away from the sad memories of his late wife.
