This story has appeared in print (as 'Punished' by Raymond
Long), but that version was heavily cut. Here for the first
time is the story as Raymond Long intended it to be told.
Jenny thinks she is ballsy and street smart, but really she
is just a mouthy little bitch who doesn't realise how hard
things can get for people who step too far out of line.
Life's one big party for her, paid for with an endless
stream of credit cards she can't pay off, until one day the
bailiffs arrive and she is arrested. She is in despair,
facing five years in prison, when her lawyer brings
executives from Second Chance Industries to her with a
proposition. Under the new Redemption of Criminal
Culpability Act, companies can 'redeem' convicts who sign
their contracts. These 'redemptees' then have to work for
their contract until they can pay off their redemption fee.
Jenny willingly signs a contract to escape prison, without
knowing what kind of work she will be expected to do,
without even reading the contract. She finds herself
employed in Troublemakers Gentlemen's Club in the legalised
prostitution area of London. Under the law, 'redemptees' can
only be physically punished if they break some rule. But
it's very easy for girls to break the rules at
Troublemakers, especially since they aren't told what the
rules are. Then they are put on 'punishment detail' - and
gentlemen clients are only too willing to pay for the
privilege of meting out the punishment to which these girls
can legally be subjected.
