This thriller is told in the first person through the
diaries of the two principal characters; Mike, 16 and
homeless and Jack, 23. Mike is unwittingly recruited into a
boy-brothel but rescued from it by Jack, the personal
assistant to the evil Sutherland, who runs the illegal
operation. Seeing a chance to escape, Jack takes
Sutherland’s money and evidence against his dangerous
employer. With Mike, he flees across Europe in a desperate
bid to outsmart Sutherland. Living now in a half fantasy
half reality, Mike describes his adventures and his feelings
for the gay guy who has just rescued him. As Jack witnesses
Mike coming to terms with his situation he starts to fall
for the lad. But then he starts to wonder: is Mike all he
seems to be? He has been talking in his sleep, he sees
vampires and says that he has killed someone. And then Mike
gets rid of the only evidence that can save their lives and
Jack realises that he has leapt from he frying pan and
into…But as you read the diaries you will start to wonder
whether it isn’t Jack who is the one living in a fantasy
world. And which one would you trust?
